General Information
How do I book a photo session with you?
Booking is simple! Just reach out via the Inquire page, email, or social media. Let me know the type of session you’re interested in, and we’ll discuss availability, location, and any specific requests. Once we confirm details, a deposit may be required to secure your date.
What types of photography do you offer?
I specialise in business Branding & Content, Weddings & Couples and Family & Milestone events. However, I’m always open to capturing other special moments, so if you have something unique in mind, feel free to reach out!
Do you work with businesses as well as individuals?
Yes, I work with both individuals and businesses. I offer branding photography packages specifically tailored for businesses looking to elevate their visual identity. These sessions are designed to showcase your brand's personality, values, and services through high-quality, professional imagery.
Whether you're a solo entrepreneur, a small team, or an established company, I help you create a cohesive set of images that can be used across your website, social media, marketing materials, and more. This can include photos of your business premises (exterior and interior) portraits of you and your team, behind-the-scenes shots, your workspace and lifestyle images that tell your brand story in an authentic and engaging way.
Packages & Pricing
How much do your photography sessions cost?
I offer different packages depending on the type of shoot. Pricing varies based on session length, location, and number of images provided. You can find my full pricing details on my 'Sessions' page, or reach out for a custom quote.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a deposit is required to secure your booking. This ensures your date is reserved and allows me to plan for your session. The deposit amount varies depending on the type of shoot and is non-refundable, but it can be applied to a rescheduled session if needed. The remaining balance is due before or on the day of the shoot.
Are there any hidden fees?
No hidden fees! My pricing is transparent, and any additional costs (such as extra travel or special edits) will always be discussed upfront.
Booking & Availability
How far in advance should I book?
For weddings and events, I recommend booking at least 3-6 months in advance to secure your date. For portraits and branding sessions, 2-4 weeks' notice is ideal. However, if you have a last-minute request, feel free to ask, I’ll do my best to accommodate you.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
Life happens! If you need to reschedule, just let me know as soon as possible. I’ll do my best to find a new date that works for both of us. Deposits are typically non-refundable, but they can be applied to a rescheduled session within a certain time frame.
Do you travel for shoots?
Yes! I’m based in Dublin but am happy to travel for weddings and events. Travel fees may apply for locations outside a certain radius. Just ask, and I’ll provide a quote.
The Experience
How should I prepare for my session?
Once we book your session, I’ll provide a guide with tips on what to wear, how to pose naturally, and what to bring. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the process!
What should I wear?
Wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable. For branding sessions, choose outfits that reflect your style. For couples or families, coordinating colours (but not matching exactly) tend to look great. If you're unsure, I can help with outfit suggestions!
I feel awkward in front of the camera, can you help?
Absolutely! Most of my clients say the same thing at first, but I’ll guide you through natural poses and prompts to help you feel at ease. My goal is to capture authentic moments, not stiff, overly posed images.
Can I post the photos on social media?
Typically what I'll do after a session is curate an Instagram post, send you a preview for your approval and then tag you as a collaborator so it goes directly onto your Instagram feed with one click. After that, I’d love for you to share them however you'd like. If you do, I always appreciate a tag so others can find my work too! I'm @dancoxonphotos on Instagram.
The Wedding Experience
What’s your approach to photographing a wedding day?
I take a natural, documentary-style approach, capturing real, unposed moments as they unfold, while also gently guiding you for the more styled or romantic shots when needed. Specific group shots can, of course, be organised too. I aim to tell the full story of your day with authenticity and care.
Will we meet you before the wedding day?
We can if you’d like to! Some couples prefer to meet in person for a coffee and a chat, while others are totally happy with a video or phone call, which works just as well. Whatever feels most comfortable for you, I’m happy to go with.
Can we request specific shots or share inspiration with you?
Definitely. I love hearing about what matters most to you. Whether it’s a Pinterest board, a must-have family photo, or a special location on the day, I’ll make sure it’s part of the plan.
Please note that while every effort is made to capture all the important moments, no specific shot can be 100% guaranteed due to circumstances beyond my control.
Do you photograph elopements or smaller weddings?
Yes! I love intimate weddings and elopements just as much as big celebrations. I offer custom packages for smaller gatherings, so you get exactly what suits your day best.
Editing & Delivery
How long does it take to receive my photos?
Turnaround times vary depending on the session type. Typically:
- Portrait & Branding Sessions: 1-2 weeks
- Events: 2-3 weeks
- Weddings: 4-6 weeks
For clients who opt for the Deluxe Wedding Package, I offer a quicker turnaround time of 2 weeks, ensuring you get your photos faster. I always aim to deliver high-quality edits as quickly as possible while ensuring they meet my standards.
How will I receive my photos?
Your final images will be delivered via an online gallery where you can view, download, and share them easily.
Do you offer prints and albums?
At the moment, I don’t offer physical prints or albums, but you will receive high-resolution digital images that you can print anywhere you like. I’m happy to recommend trusted print labs if you’d like professional-quality prints.
